Privacy

Nextblue has created this privacy notice to demonstrate our commitment to internet privacy. We handle the personal data we collect about you as carefully as possible. Here, we will explain what happens to your data when you visit www.next.blue.

About this website

This is the website for Nextblue, a Netherlands-based legal entity incorporated in Rotterdam, with its registered address at Goudsesingel 102, Unit D.15, 3011KD, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. If you have any questions about our privacy policy or how we take care of your personal data, you can reach us via team@next.blue.

Why do we process personal data?

We collect, store and use (in short: processing) personal data. These processing operations help us to realize our dream: dry feet, a full stomach and improved climate resilience for everyone. To achieve this dream, we need donations and communication with our supporters. By analyzing this communication, we can approach you more specifically.

We only process personal data if we have a legal basis for doing so. Nextblue uses the following legal bases: To perform our agreements with you (for example, your sponsorship or subscription to our email newsletter), and to comply with our legal obligations to share certain information about donations with tax authorities.

What happens when you visit our website?

You can visit most parts of next.blue without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a normal website visit is the name of your Internet service provider, your IP address (this a number which uniquely identifies your internet connection), the browser and type of machine you are using, the website that referred you to us, the pages you request and the date and time of those requests.

What happens when you send us an email?

By signing one of our registration forms on the Nextblue Site, you send your email address, which is being stored and used to receive our newsletter. We send a weekly newsletter via Ghost Pro, an open source publishing platform, and campaign messages via Transpond, services that allow us to create and send emails to large numbers of people at once. Ghost Pro and Transpond record each subscriber's email address, IP address, plus the date and time for each open and click.

Both services use this data to create reports for Nextblue about how well a newsletter or campaign message was read and by whom. You can read the privacy policy of Ghost Pro here, and the privacy policy of Transpond here. Transpond is hosted by Capsule CRM, our Customer Relationship Management tool, based in the UK.

What happens when you publish on our website?

Have you ever published a story with us as an author, or submitted an image? Then we have your email address stored on our website. We use that to contact you if anyone has a question about your story. The editorial staff has access to this, but we do not give this to third parties.

Our website contains links to other websites and services (such as our payment service, provided by Stripe). Nextblue is not responsible for the privacy practices of such websites. It is the user's responsibility to review the privacy policies at those websites to confirm that they are acceptable prior to use. A link does not constitute an endorsement of the content, viewpoint or accuracy of such websites.
